Nick Monaco Releases “River” From ‘Heroin Disco’ LP; Announces Tour

Francoys
Alt/Electronica
8 June 2018

Nick Monaco is back with “River”, another seductive single from the Barcelona artist and Unisex Records label-head. Throughout his career, Monaco has existed in a sort of beautiful limbo. He put every ounce of energy into his music, but his presence was more fluid and illusive; communicating raw emotion without inserting ego.

However, the release of “River” marks a pointed change in Monaco’s trajectory. “River” is the first single off his forthcoming album ‘Heroin Disco’, which will be the first release on his brand new label Unisex Records.

With this new label, Monaco is now entirely in the forefront. He’s producing, performing, and releasing his own music which is not an easy task, but he’s stepping up to the challenge and using the opportunity to expand to new sounds as heard on “River.”

This new single is stripped down to the bone, leaving listeners with a feeling of suspense while Monaco’s sultry voice guides them towards the ending they would never expect. Lingering reverberations and marked silences are powerful tools that he handles with grace and precision, emphasizing balance as a theme.

There is no doubt that this will be Monaco’s most personal album yet, and he’s eager to share it with his fans. Across June and July he will be touring the record in North America, Europe, and South America. Check out the dates below and throw “River” on rotation for the weekend.
