RISE founder Hyenah hits the mark every time. Following up an impressive 2021 that saw him contribute a standout ‘Watergate 27’ compilation and EP ‘The Message’ to the club’s imprint, he returns with a new work, ‘Once a Man’.

The EP is opening with ‘Words of Love’, a colourful and dramatic track made for bouncing dancefloor moments, as the main melody and bass involve themselves in a lively dialogue with one another. ‘The Greed’ sets the mood with African style rhythms, before a twinkling melody line and bass rub shoulders for the remainder of the cut. A handy tool to set the vibe right. The title track, featuring Aquarius Heaven, brings atmosphere in bags and is made for late-night sessions on the Waterfloor. Copenhagen’s Nandu blesses the EP with a remix of ‘The Greed’ as he teases out the main melody into dreamier territory, while re-moulding the bassline into a gritty beast.
